Gunmen Sought In Shooting Of Philly Block Captain

Philadelphia Police are looking for four men who shot a block captain when he tried to intervene in a catalytic converter theft last week.

MT. AIRY, PHILADELPHIA — Four men are being sought in connection with the shooting of a Philadelphia block captain last week.

According to Philadelphia Police, the shooting occurred at 3:57 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 1 W. Pomona St.

Police said four men were stealing a catalytic converter and were confronted by the victim and another person when they were leaving the area.

One of the men pulled out a gun and shot the man in the chest, police said.

The suspects then left the area, two in a silver sedan and two others on foot, on the 6300 block of Germantown Avenue going toward Washington Lane.

Police described the suspects as four black men wearing masks, about 20 to 30 years old.
