Heat Wave Death Toll Rises To 4 In Philly As Excessive Heat Warning Extended
Four people have now died due to the heat in Philadelphia.

A nearly weeklong heatwave has claimed the lives of four people in Philadelphia. Temperatures will remain dangerously high through Tuesday, according to an excessive heat warning from the National Weather Service.
Three people died over the weekend due to the heat, the Inquirer reports. Another victim of the heatwave was reported Monday.
None of the victims' names were released, but they included a 72-year-old man and a 59-year-old man, as well as an 82-year-old woman and a 67-year-old woman, the Inquirer says. Both women reportedly suffered from cardiovascular disease; the elderly man had diabetes, hypertension and obesity.

Meanwhile, the uncomfortable and dangerous temperatures will linger through Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. An excessive heat warning is in place through 6 p.m. on Tuesday. During the day Tuesday, it could feel as hot at 108 with the heat index.
Some relief is expected later in the week, with highs in the 80s in the forecast.

"This multiple-day excessive heat event has increased the risk for heat-related health issues," the NWS said.

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. Southwest wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 91. Northwest wind 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 89.
