Man Wanted For Mt Airy Sexual Assault In Custody: Reports
Zyree Downing, 22, was taken into custody in connection with the sexual assault and beating of a 71-year-old Mt. Airy woman, reports say.
MT. AIRY, PHILADELPHIA — A 22-year-old man was taken into custody in North Carolina in connection with the sexual assault and beating of a 71-year-old woman in Mt. Airy.
Zryee Downing, 22, was taken into custody in North Carolina after authorities followed him there, according to multiple news reports.
He is accused of being involved in the incident that occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 while the victim was at her home on the 7400 block of Devon Street.

At that time, a man came into her home through an unlocked front door and demand money from the victim.
When she refused, the victim punched her in the head and back, then started choking her, police said.

After the attack, he forced the victim to take off her clothes and sexually assaulted her.
Details of Downing being taken into custody were not immediately released.
