Drumming Classes: There will be drumming classes at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, at the Germantown Jewish Center.  I'll let the organizers describe this one: "adults on their own welcome or kids 10 and up accompanied by an adult. Each week  Shawn brings a variety of global percussion instruments and participants learn  different rhythms and techniques from around the world.  The class opens  awareness about the world and allows individuals to express themselves through  drumming, dance, songs, and working together to share in the "rhythm."  All levels welcome. Drums will be provided, or bring
your own if you wish.
Pre-registration and payment required.  Contact  program@germantownjewishcentre.org  or 215.844.1507 x19 for more info and rate details."

Here's more info from the organizers: "Kenny Sykes has been playing in our concert series since we started some 13 years ago and we're always glad when August rolls around and he can play some cool jazz for us. This year he has a great band behind his alto and tenor saxophone playing. We'll also get to hear his rich baritone voice on gospel, soul and standards. This is an outdoor concert, bring a lawn chair or a blanket, a picnic, kids and dogs. Rain date is Saturday August 3 same time and place. For more information call 215-242-0854 or go to WalkaCrookedMileBooks.com."
