Woman, 71, Beaten And Sexually Assaulted In Mt Airy Home Thursday
Police said a 17- to 24-year-old man came into the victim's home, demanded money, beat her, then sexually assaulted her Thursday afternoon.
MT. AIRY, PHILADELPHIA — A 71-year-old woman was sexually assaulted and beaten by a home invader during the daytime Thursday in Mt. Airy, according to Philadelphia Police.
Police said the incident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday while the victim was at her home on the 7400 block of Devon Street.
At that time, a man came into her home through an unlocked front door and demand money from the victim.

When she refused, the victim punched her in the head and back, then started choking her, police said.
After the attack, he forced the victim to take off her clothes and sexually assaulted her.

Police said the attacker stole the victim's gray 2014 Toyota Corolla, cell phone, and credit card.
Authorities said the has minor paint damage on the rear passenger side bumper.
The suspect is described as a black male, 17 to 24 years old, standing 5 feet 5 inches tall with short black hair, wearing a white T-shirt with charcoal writing and army green pants.
