Cranberry Offering Kids Wildlife Exploration Program

Six-week summer program will reinforce Leave No Trace principles.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - Worried about your children doing nothing more active than watching TV or playing video games? No need to be concerned. Just ship them off to a six-week series of 90-minute wildlife explorations.

The program for children between the ages of 5 and 10 will be held in various parks in and around Cranberry on successive Fridays between 1 and 2:30 p.m. Children will be encouraged to enjoy the natural surrounding while observing the Leave No Trace principles to preserve and protect natural spaces.

  • June 30 in Denny Park, 300 Denny Park Drive, Ross Township
  • July 7 in Richland Community Park Pavilion, 1157 VanVelstor Drive, Bakerstown
  • July 14 in Ohio Township Community Park Nature Center, 325 Nicholson Road, Sewickley
  • July 21 in Franklin Park’s Linbrook Park, Whispering Pines Pavilion, 2633 Big Beaver Creek Road, Sewickley
  • July 28 in Cranberry’s Graham Park Centennial Scouting Plaza and Fishing Lake
  • Aug.4 in Knob Hill Park, 415 Knob Road, Marshall Township.

Parents are responsible for dropping off and picking up their child at the appropriate park. The explorations cost $10 each, while registration for all six is $55.
