Five Things You Need to Know This Week
Patch gives you a rundown of what's going on in the community this week

1. Cranberry Planning Advisory Commission
Get the scoop on what developments are in the works for Cranberry. The commission meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 29 at the Cranberry Township Municipal Building on Rochester Road.
2. Cranberry Board of Supervisors Meeting
Find out in person what’s going on in township government. Cranberry’s board of supervisors will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 30 inside council chambers at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center.
3. Cranberry Kids Castle Community Build
The community build portion of the Kids Castle Playground at Cranberry Community Park is set for Wednesday, July 31 through Sunday, Aug. 4.

Construction on the project will require volunteers working from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in three 4.5 hour shifts.Â
To sign up for one or more shifts, go to either Cranberry’s website at www.cranberrytownship.org, or the CTCC web site at www.ctcchest.org and click on "Sign up to Help Build Kids Castle." Â

4. Coffee with the Cranberry Township Manager
Cranberry’s popular Community Coffee series will continue its informal public get-togethers with township manager Jerry Andree at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2 in the Sample One-Room School House on Rochester Road.
The gathering will immediately follow a noontime concert with Charlie Stayduhar’s Frank Sinatra tribute performance in the nearby Sunrise Rotary Gazebo.Â
5. The Cranberry CUP Kicks Off
The Cranberry CUP weekend to benefit a local family in need is this weekend. Then, on The golf classic will be held Friday, Aug. 2 at Cranberry Highlands Golf Course. A kickoff party will be held later in the evening.
A 5K Run/Walk and Kids 1-mile Fun Run will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 at Cranberry Community Park. The event is scheduled to place before the Cranberry CUP Opening Ceremonies for the neighborhood softball tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 in the park to introduce this year’s beneficiaries, the Long family.
