Mysterious Cranberry Gas Leaks Being Probed
Gas leaks forced the shutoff of service to dozens of Cranberry homes Wednesday. Get the details here.
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — More than 100 calls of gas odors occurred in the township yesterday, with service reportedly being shut off to at least several dozen homes in the Fox Run area.
According to the Cranberry Volunteer Fire Company, calls of gas in homes were being investigated beginning around 2:30 p.m. and were still occurring at 10:30 p.m.
About 50 firefighters from Cranberry and six other neighboring departments, including Harmony, Wexford, Callery, Adams and New Sewickley, went door-to-door.

Fire officials said around 35 homes had their service shut off after leaks were reported.
Columbia Gas told WPXI-TV that it was investigating the cause of the leaks. No gas lines were hit and there were no problems with pressure in the lines.
