North Country Brewing Company Purchasing Historic Harmony Inn
The brewery and pub also has a location in Slippery Rock.

For weeks, rumors have been swirling that the North Country Brewing Company, which has a pub and restaurant in Slippery Rock, would take over the Historic Harmony Inn in Harmony.
In this case, the rumors are true.
In a post on the North Country Brewing Facebook page, owners Bob and Jodi McCafferty confirmed they are purchasing the Harmony Inn, which closed temporarily last month.

The McCaffertys added they are not currently involved in the day-to-day operations of the inn.
“Our goal is to complete the transition within the next few months, but as we have learned these changes do not happen quickly,” the Facebook post said.

There is no word yet on the couple’s plans for the restaurant, including the menu.
“We are still in the planning phases and currently do not have any more information to share at this time, but we will keep you informed of any news as it becomes available,” the post said.
Owned by Carl Beers and Gary Barnes for close to three decades, The Harmony Inn temporarily closed at the beginning of July.
“After almost 30 years, it’s about time,” joked Beers, who recently celebrated his 68th birthday.
At the time, Barnes said he could not reveal who the owners were until the liquor license transfer and other paperwork was complete, but did note the prospective buyers used to work at the Harmony Inn.
As for the McCaffertys, they have prior experience working with a building that, like the Harmony Inn, is centuries old.
In the spring of 1998, the couple began renovating the North Country Brewing Company on Slippery Rock’s Main Street. Built in 1805 by Peter Uber, the building was once an inn, a furniture store and a funeral home.
Many of the building’s original elements remain in the restaurant.
All of North Country’s beers are made on site. The restaurant also has an extensive lunch and dinner menu that includes a number of vegetarian options.
