Seneca Valley School District Hikes Property Taxes
Cranberry homeowners will be paying more in real estate levies for the second consecutive year after a Seneca Valley tax increase.
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — Property taxes are rising for Cranberry property owners as Seneca Valley School District directors unanimously approved a 2024-25 budget with 5.32-mill increase at their meeting on Monday.
The millage rate will jump from 133 to 138.32 mills.
That equates to an annual real estate tax increase of $138 for the average homeowner in the district, which also includes the communities of Forward, Jackson and Lancaster townships and Callery, Evans City, Harmony, Seven Fields and Zelienople boroughs.

Homestead and farmstead property owners approved by the state will see their property taxes reduced by $150.23.
The district now has raised taxes for the second consecutive year. Last year, the rate jumped from 130.45 to 133 mills.

Since the 2015-16 school year, the rate has jumped from 119.90 to 138.32 mills.
District officials have blamed this latest tax hike to increased salaries, benefits, health care and transportation costs.
