Firefighters Come To The Aid Of A Horse On New Year's Day In Warwick
The rescuers responded to a township barn on the first day of 2026 to help a 30-year-old horse named Snickers get back on his feet.

WARWICK TOWNSHIP, PA — The Warwick Township Fire Company No. 1 came to the aid of a horse on New Year's Day.
The firefighters were dispatched for what may end up being one of the more unusal assignments of the year - an elderly horse who was unable to get back on his feet.
When the rescue crews arrived at a township barn, they found a 30-year-old quarter horse named Snickers lying on the ground inside its stall.

The company reached out to the Midway Volunteer Fire Company, which brought special equipment to the scene to help hoist the horse back to its feet.
The firefighters, who were assisted by the Quakertown Veterinary Clinic during the rescue operation, spent several hours in the cold weather working to lift Snickers, who was eventually able to regain his footing.
Snickers' owner said in a Facebook posting he was grateful and thankful to the firefighters who helped at the scene.
"Still working on getting him to drink and eat more. Thank you to such dedicated people who helped to save my best friend today. We have been together 23 years."
The horse, said the owner, is doing much better, but still under watch and not quite out of the woods.
