Forest Hills Council Approves $56K Roof Project for Fire Dept., Other Services
Council members approved various projects and hires Wednesday night.

Wednesday approved several bids for work throughout the borough, including a project that will provide a new roof for the fire department’s building.
A $56,000 bid was approved by council members for the roof project, which will be funded from a 2007 bond issue.
During the meeting, it also was reported that $117,000 has been collected through the end of March for the , which was . Delinquent notices will be sent out soon for residents who have not yet paid the fee.

Council also stated that it may consider restructuring the commercial portion of the fee in 2013.

- a $44,000 bid from Central Heating and Plumbing, Inc. for the Forest Hills/Westinghouse Recreation Center
- Keith Morse as the new emergency management coordinator for the borough
- a $13,000 bid for tree pruning in the borough by Carl’s Tree Service
- the hiring of Nicholas Ricci as the new assistant swim team coach
- the hiring of Youssef Abdelwahab as the new tennis coach
In addition, council discussed:
- A park clean up will occur on April 21 at the Main Park.Â
- planning for a compost site at the Forest Hills/Westinghouse Recreation Lodge.Â
