Wilkins School Community Center is again hosting a fall event that encourages the public to "Recycle, Swap and Learn."

The seventh annual EcoFest takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Wilkins School Community Center, 7604 Charleston Ave., Regent Square.

Ecofest educates families on reusing and recycling, and features everything from a clothing swap at the Free Clothing Boutique and Repurposing Salon to a bicycle maintenance station by Bike Pittsburgh.

Organizations will be on hand to provide information and recycling opportunities during the event. Goodwill Industries will be accepting computers, monitors, printers, phones, and other small electronics--though this year no televisions are being taken.

Visitors can enjoy food, including homemade soups, and lots of activities. One project allows you to bring an old T-shirt from home and turn it into a new handbag.

The day’s events also include live music, along with plenty of activities for kids, including a playhouse open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event will also provide information about backyard composting, questions answered from the Pittsburgh Vegan Group, homemade beer tasting, the Steel City Ukelele, Personal Energy Conservation, and more.
