Purse Stolen from Unlocked Home, Attempted Carjacking in Swissvale

May 7

• Police responded to a report of a burglary on Lacrosse. While the resident was in the home on a computer in the kitchen, someone entered through an unlocked front door and took a purse off of a living room table.
• Police responded to a retail theft incident at Giant Eagle after someone took $22 in food. The store is handling the incident.
• Police responded to a suspicious incident  at Giant Eagle between a father and son. The case was referred to CYS.
• Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Trenton. Nothing was found.

• Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg officers with a domestic dispute report.
• Police responded to a false alarm at Total Pet.
• Edgewood police assisted Wilkinsburg officers with a fight on Rebecca between a group of juveniles.
• Police responded to a report of theft from a vehicle on Lloyd.
• Change was taken from another vehicle on Lloyd which had its doors unlocked.

• Police responded to a report of a hit and run on Linden Avenue after a parked car had scuff marks and a dent on its side.
• Police patrolled the areas of Center Street, Lloyd and Lacrosse. No suspicious activity seen.
• Police took a harassment report.
• Edgewood police assisted Swissvale officers after a man was threatening to commit suicide. He was taken to Western Psych.

May 10

• Police responded to a report of harassment after an employee was threatened by a customer.
• Police responded to a hit and run near the corner of Sanders and Braddock. One car had driver’s side damage.

May 11

• Police responded to a report of a sick raccoon.
• Police responded to a suspicious incident on Lacrosse after a woman said she locked the doors of her home to later find them unlocked. She may have forgotten.
• Police responded to a report of retail theft at Giant Eagle. James Eppenger had a full extradition warrant out of Illinois and was taken to Allegheny County Jail.
• Police recovered an unoccupied stolen vehicle in front of 557 Allenby.
• Police responded to a false alarm at CW Price.
• Police responded to a report of a suspicious person in a backyard near 126 Race Street. Nothing was found.
• police assisted officers with an attempted carjacking report. A number of men attempted to carjack a vehicle and shot at the driver. Two juveniles were taken into custody.

• Police assisted on a medical call.
• Police held a DUI checkpoint.
• Edgewood police assisted state police with a pursuit of a motorcycle on the Parkway.
• Edgewood police assisted Swissvale officers with a vehicle pursuit near Blackhawk.
