Two students from in were the Wolverine Spirit Awardees in May.
Tessa Douglas, a seventh grader, was nominated by her teacher, Sara Vollmer.
“Tessa is our seventh grade class vice-president," Vollmer said. "She is well-respected by her peers. When she speaks, the class listens to her. She always acts with kindness and genuinely from the heart. She is a high honor roll student who participates in numerous extracurricular activities in GATE and in the theater. She is well-deserving of this award.”

Javon Spell, an eighth grader, was the second award winner. He was nominated by his teacher, Sarah King.
"Javon is a kind, caring individual," she said. "His generosity extends to teachers and students. Javon is the epitome of the 4Ps – Prompt / Polite/ Productive / Proud. should be proud of him.”

Deputy Superintendent Mr. Alan N. Johnson presented certificates and Barnes and Noble gift cards to the Wolverine Spirit Award winners with the assistance of Junior High Principal Dawn Golden.
