These Three Places Are Cool Right Now

With a heat index in the mid-to-upper 90s, it's smart to take your family to a cool place.

Here are three local spots to beat the heat:

1. Forest Hills Pool and Lodge 
The large swimming pool is a fun way to cool off. The concession stand offers a variety of fast food and cold drinks. Prices for Forest Hills residents are $7 for people ages 11 or older; $5 for kids 3-10; $4 for senior citizens 60 and older; and free for kids 3 and under. Prices for non-Forest Hills residents accompanied with a Forest Hills resident are $9 for people ages 11 and older; $7 for kids 3-10; $5 for senior citizens 60 and older; and free for kids 3 and under. Hours are noon to 8 p.m.

2. C.C. Mellor Library in Edgewood

3. Swissvale Bowl-A-Rama
