$1.4M Water Main Replacement Work Underway In Haverford
Five road are having older water main replaced as part of Aqua Pennsylvania's effort to reduce the potential for main breaks and more.
HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — A major water main replacement project is underway in Haverford Township and is expected to last for a few months.
Aqua Pennsylvania is working on a $1.5 million water main replacement project on five roads in the township.
Crews recently began working to replace 4,808 feet of old 6-inch water mains with new 8-inch ductile iron water mains, which are more durable and are comprised of about 90 percent recycled metal materials.

The work is being done on:
- Woodcrest Avenue between Haverford and Morris roads
- Morris Road between Point Reading Road and Ardmore Avenue
- Oakford Avenue between Point Reading Road and Aubrey Avenue
- Georges Lane between Morris Road and Oakford Avenue
- Saint Mary’s Road between Aubrey Avenue and #2702 Saint Mary’s Road
Aqua’s work is expected to be completed in May.

Final road restoration is expected to be completed by September, weather permitting.
The new water mains will reduce the potential for main breaks, discolored water and will improve water flow in the area.
