4-Vehicle Crash On I-476 In Delco Sends Woman To Hospital

A woman had to be rescued from a vehicle after two sedans, a pickup truck, and an RV were all involved in a crash on I-476 south Sunday.

NETHER PROVIDENCE, PA — A woman was seriously hurt and had to be extricated from a vehicle following a crash on Interstate 476 in Delaware County Sunday.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash happened at about 5:50 p.m. at mile marker 2.3 on I-476 south in Nether Providence Township.

Two sedans, a pickup truck, and an RV all crashed at that time and location.

It's unclear what caused the crash.

The crash closed the highway for about four hours, part of which was spent working to rescue a woman from one of the crashed vehicles.

Police said she was taken to a hospital after suffering serious injuries.

Others in the crash suffered minor injuries, police said.

The highway reopened at 10 p.m. Sunday.
