Celebrate 4th Of July At The Grange Field

The Penfield Civic Association​ is hosting its annual 4th of July Celebration in Havertown's Grange Field Park Friday. See details here.

HAVERTOWN, PA — The Penfield Civic Association is inviting community members to its Annual 4thof July Celebration Friday.

Fun kicks off at 9:30 a.m. at Grange Field Park, 599 Cumberland Road in Havertown.

The Star-Spangled Banner will be performed at 9:30 a.m. at the field's flagpole and will be followed by a bike parade, led by the Brookline Volunteer Fire Company. Kids of all ages can participate by decorating their bikes and scooters and riding along.

At 10:15 a.m., the baseball field will host a community kickball game.

Then, at 10:45 a.m., test your munching abilities at the watermelon eating contest. To participate, email penfieldcivic@gmail.com by Tuesday. Entry is $5 per person.

The Brookline Fire Company will host a spray down at 11:45 a.m. to keep everyone cooled off in the summer heat.

All day long, the event will feature Carmona’s Mobile Food, Kona Water Ice, Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee, hot dogs, snacks, and drinks available for purchase.

Penfield Civic Association members receive two complimentary tickets per household, redeemable for hotdogs and drinks.

Philadelphia-based electric string ensemble Elegance Quartet will perform throughout the day, as well.

Additionally, kids can enjoy an inflatable obstacle course and face painting.

The event is free to attend.
