Haverford Township & HPED Host Jobs Fair

HPED seeks to help our businesses fill current vacancies.

A survey released in May by the National Federation of Independent Business found that a record 44% of small-business owners reported job openings they could not fill. Haverford Township has been experiencing this issue, as well. Haverford Partnership for Economic Development (HPED) has been hearing reports from businesses that they are struggling to find employees, and at times some have had to reduce their hours due to staffing shortages. "We know that there are great candidates out there and we want to help make that connection, explains Jeanne Angell, Executive Director of HPED.

To that end, HPED is organizing a jobs fair at Haverford Reserve on October 12th from 4:00-7:00pm. "Haverford Township is a great place to work," Angell points out. We are a vibrant and welcoming community with good access to public transportation and lots of great restaurants and shops!"

HPED has over 25 employers signed up for the event with a wide variety of job sectors represented -- from shops and restaurants to health care, office work and trades. A workshop on interviewing skills will be held at the Jobs Fair at 5:00pm.

Free refreshments will be served, and every candidate will be entered into a door prize drawing of over $500 in gift cards!
