Havertown Holiday Festival Offers Community Spirit and Holiday Fun

The Havertown Holiday Festival is a family friendly event focused on Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Winter Fun!

Discover Haverford is excited to announce their second annual Havertown Holiday Festival on December 2nd from 12:00-7:00pm.

The festival is a family-friendly event focused on Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Winter Fun! “Havertown is known for its close-knit community and small-town feel, so this will be a wonderful event for all ages,” explains Jeanne Angell, Executive Director of Discover Haverford. “Last year guests described it as “magical’ or ‘just like a Hallmark movie!’ So, bundle up, grab a hot drink and join us on Brookline Boulevard for some holiday spirit!”

Early in the day, kids will have a chance to meet Elsa and Olaf from the movie Frozen, take a photo with The Grinch, and participate in story time with Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa books. There will be Hanukkah, Christmas and other crafts offered throughout the day by various groups and a face painting booth. Come early if you want to watch the award-winning ice sculptor Don Lowing do his magic, turning a block of ice into a masterpiece.

The event will offer live performances all day, from Colonial Revelers and the Havertones singing Christmas music to professional violinist David Brown playing traditional Jewish music and storyteller Paul Son Best, who will do a Kwanzaa lighting ceremony and story.

Santa and Buddy the Elf will arrive around 4:00pm and light the Christmas tree at 5:00pm, followed by community caroling around the tree.

In addition to the restaurants on Brookline Boulevard, food trucks and vendors will offer lunch and dinner fare, desserts, coffee and hot chocolate. For adults there will be beer from Conshohocken Brewing Company, hot adult drinks from Brick & Brew’s Whiskey Wagon, and wine from Gritty City Winery.

There will be a vendor marketplace for holiday gift shopping, along with four great retail shops in the Brookline business district. Vendor products for sale include jewelry, boutique clothing and accessories, home décor and housewares, wine, and cozy alpaca apparel.

Entrance fee is $5 (children age 3 and under are free) or $20 per household. For the complete schedule for the day and information about parking, visit www.discoverhaverford.org/holiday-festival
