Number Of Newly Reported Delco COVID-19 Cases Increases

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — State data on the coronavirus in Delaware County shows incidents of the coronavirus are increasing.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health's early coronavirus warning dashboard, three of the six metrics have gone up.

However, all those numbers still remain very low.

The three areas measured that saw increases were newly reported cases, incidence rate per 100,000 people and the number of people with coronavirus-like illnesses..

Newly reported cases went from 43 to 50.

The number of people who have coronavirus-like illnesses at Delaware County hospitals went down from 0.9 percent to 1.2 percent.

The incidence rate per 100,000 people went up from 7.8 to 8.8.

The following metrics either decreased or remained the same.

The testing positivity rate remained the same, at 1.1 percent.

Ventilator use decreased from .03 to 0.

Coronavirus specific hospitalizations dropped from 9.6 to 8.
