Superintendent Maureen Reusche Retiring From SDHT After 2024-25 Year

Dr. Maureen Reusche has served the School District of Haverford Township for nine years and will leave her position at the end of the year.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — School District of Haverford Township Superintendent Dr. Maureen Reusche is retiring.

The district announced Reusche will retire at the close of the 2024-25 school year, bringing her 42-year career in education to an end.

Reusche has been the district's superintendent for nine years.

"After an incredibly rewarding career as an educator, I am excited for this next chapter of my life, yet also filled with bittersweet emotions and immense gratitude as we approach this upcoming school year," Reusche said.

Reflecting on her tenure, Reusche expressed pride in the district's accomplishments and praised the dedication and talent of Haverford’s staff and students.

"I am so proud of the work that our school district has accomplished and continue to be inspired daily by the dedication and talent of our staff and students," she said. "They really are among the finest, anywhere. Our partnership with our parents, school board members, and community is exceptionally strong. Ours is a closely-knit community unlike any other – and one that always unites around and supports our students. The children of this district are simply exceptional – bright, enthusiastic, compassionate, and energetic. It truly is an honor for each of us to work with them."

"The Board appreciates Dr. Reusche’s skilled leadership and many contributions to the district’s students and community," School Board President Bridget Wiedeman said on behalf of the school board. "During Dr. Reusche's tenure, the district has grown in enrollment, demonstrated our strategic values, invested in our school buildings, and maintained a commitment to educational excellence, all of which position our district to be attractive to superintendent candidates."

The board is initiating a search process for the next leader of the School District of Haverford Township and will seek input from the community and share updates as they are available.
