A Portion Of County Line Road Between Montco & Bucks To Close For A Year For Repairs
The reason for the planned yearlong closure is due to the replacing of a deteriorating masonry arch bridge.
MONTGOMERY & BUCKS CO.'S — A stretch of County Line Road that separates Montgomery and Bucks Counties in the areas of Horsham Township and Warminster Township will soon be closed for a yearlong period as work crews replace an aging masonry arch bridge.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that County Line Road will close in both directions between Fairmount Avenue and Bradford Road beginning April 11 so workers can replace the deteriorating masonry arch bridge with a six-foot-wide, single-span extension on the roadways over an unnamed Little Neshaminy Creek tributary.
The bridge, which will have a posted 10-ton weight restriction, is located between the intersections of Fairmount Road and Park Road.

PennDOT said that the bridge project was originally scheduled to take place in 2023, but that the work was moved up after the bridge was damaged during Hurricane Ida last September.
Officials said that the work is expected to last through the spring of 2023.

Workers will be both replacing the bridge and also raising the elevation of the roadway to enhance safety and drainage in the area.
During the slated closure, motorists traveling along County Line Road in the area of the work will be directed to use Lower State Road, Street Road and Easton Road (Route 611), and local access will be maintained up to the work zone.
The general contractor on the project is James D. Morrissey, Inc. of Philadelphia.
State Rep. Todd Stephens, R-51, announced that he will be hosting a public meeting to address the bridge project on Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Horsham Township Building, 1025 Horsham Road.
