Candidate Questions
1. How do you feel about the school district's recent tax hikes?
Because school districts draw a large percentage of their revenue from property taxes, the only way to keep up with inflation is with tax hikes. That said, there is plenty of bloat within the budget that could be eliminated with zero-balance budgeting.
2. What educational background do you bring to the position?
I have been a Financial Advisor for 23.5 years and have served on the boards of several organizations and non-profits, including an Organic Community Supported Agriculture organization (CSA) in Horsham for nine years.
3. What are the biggest challenges facing the school district in the future?
The quality of the education being provided to our students is declining. Our great teachers are not the problem. The current administration, at the direction of the majority on the current board, do not properly support or empower our teachers.
