Fire Displaces 2 Horsham Families

Horsham Fire Co. Chief Tim Flanagan told Patch that the 12:43 a.m. fire started in an attached shed and spread into the house, which is located at 124 Brownstone Lane. 

The fire traveled to the attached twin, 122 Brownstone Lane, according to Flanagan, who said both of the homes' occupants were able to evacuate without injury. 

"There is some fire, smoke, and water damage to that house," Flanagan said of 122 Brownstone. "The houses, at this time are uninhabitable."

Residents are staying in a local hotel, according to Flanagan. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, he said, adding that Fire Marshal George Fida is looking at a portable generator that was running in the attached shed at the time of the fire as a possible cause. 

A neighbor, who watched men work on the roof Wednesday morning, told Patch she heard a loud "boom" coming from the residences at the time of the fire.
