HATBORO, PA — We all have our favorite teachers, whether they come into our lives in kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school, and college.

In keeping with that philosophy, borough officials created a contest and conducted a search for Hatboro’s Favorite Teacher over the past month.

To be eligible for this contest, teachers must either teach at a school within the Hatboro-Horsham School District or live within the borough itself and teach in another school district. Officials said they hope to hold the contest annually to show gratitude to local teachers.

It's Heather Brzezinski of Crooked Billet Elementary.

Brzezinski has taught for 26 years, starting at the Pennypack Elementary School. Upon Pennypack’s closure, Brzezinski was transferred to Crooked Billet Elementary School, where she currently teaches fourth grade.

"Heather not only teaches at Crooked Billet but was born and raised right here in town. She is an alumnus of Crooked Billet Elementary School herself," officials said.

Brzezinski is a beloved teacher by students, parents, and colleagues alike and has made a lasting impact on generations of students throughout the years.

"Those who nominated Heather praised Heather’s passion for teaching and going above and beyond for her students. In her classroom, students not only learn the curriculum, but are taught how to be kind, compassionate human beings. To quote one of the nominations, Heather embodies love, home, and our community all in one," officials said.

At its meeting on Monday, Borough Council awarded Brzezinski a 2025 pool membership.
