Hatboro Pizza Celebrates 25 Years In Business
John and Monica Katelas arrived from Philadelphia and set up shop on North York Road 25 years ago.

HATBORO, PA —They started in Philadelphia, working their way to another location before heading to the suburbs. And settled on Hatboro as a base for the long haul.
Hatboro Pizza was opened in April 2000 by John and Monica Katelas, who operate the third-generation-owned business.
And now 25 years later, they are still a landmark location on North York Road.

Mayor Tim Schultz, president of the Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce, presented the eatery with a certificate that is framed and showcased inside the eatery.
The couple opened their first shop in the Fentonville section of Philadelphia in 1970. Then they moved to Oxford Circle and Caster Avenue in the city.

"We have been through many trials and tribulations like all busy restaurants go through," the couple told Patch recently. "We love the Hatboro Community, we watch many families' kids grow up and become parents too."
The couple is also a big supporter and sponsor of the Hatboro Little League for over 20 years.
Business longevity also applies to its employees.
John and Monica Katelas said most of their 16 employees have been with the business for over 15 years.
