HATBORO, PA — A "No Hate in Hatboro" gathering has been planned after a Pride flag raised by the borough council was stolen.

On Wednesday, the borough raised the flag, which celebrates LGBT+ rights, at Miller Meadow, across from borough hall.

According to Police Chief James Gardner, someone cut down and removed the flag either late Friday or early Saturday. The theft is under investigation, Gardner said, and anyone with information is asked to call Hatboro Police at 215-675-2832.

No Hate in Hatboro is set for 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Miller Meadow, on South York Road.

"UNACCEPTABLE!! Let's remind people that hate has no place here," reads the event page, created by Trish Marie Purdon, of Hatboro.

"My reason for organizing this event is simple," Purdon said in an email to Patch. "We need to change people's hearts."
