The Borough of Hatboro is in the midst of constructing a Gold Star Garden in Miller Meadow Park to honor military veterans and families.
HATBORO, PA — The Borough of Hatboro is currently selling engraved bricks and benches that will be used to line the walkway of a planned Gold Star memorial garden at Miller Meadow Park that is being designed to honor those families of military members who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Hatboro is in the midst of developing the Gold Star Garden and it is looking for individuals to purchase the engraved bricks and benches to help with the design phase of the planned project.
The bricks are available for purchase for $100 each and can be engraved to honor loved ones who gave their lives in service to their country, the borough announced this week.

The paver bricks, which measure 4 inches by 8 inches, will be used to construct a lit path leading up to the garden. The bricks can be dedicated to a Gold Star family, veteran, current service member or military organization.
Benches can also be purchased, and there are currently five available honoring the five branches of the United States Military. Anyone interested in purchasing a bench should contact the Borough of Hatboro directly for availability.

According to the borough, the center of the memorial garden will be adorned with the Fallen Soldier memorial statute honoring those who gave their lives in service to the United States.
"The American Flag and Gold Star flag will be flown proudly above the garden with decorative lighting throughout the area to keep the memory of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice shining on," reads a description of the garden.
The borough says that all money raised through the sale of the paver bricks will go toward the cost of constructing the garden, which will include costs relating to materials, plantings and lighting.
Those interested in purchasing bricks do not have to be a resident of Hatboro, and borough officials say that the program is open to Gold Star families from across the entire country.
Individuals are not limited to purchasing one brick, and additional donations toward the project are also welcome.
