State Rep. Nancy Guenst Is New Secretary Of Southeastern PA Democratic Delegation

State Rep. Nancy Guenst, the new secretary of Southeastern PA Democratic Delegation, is a former Hatboro mayor with strong ties to area.

HARRISBURG — A local lawmaker with strong ties to the Hatboro community has been chosen as secretary of the state House Democratic Caucus' Southeastern Delegation.

State Rep. Nancy Guenst, who represents parts of Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties, was elected by her peers recently to serve as the caucus's secretary, who is tasked with keeping accurate records and minutes of meetings held by the delegation.

"I am very happy to serve the caucus in any way I can," Guenst said in a statement. "I appreciate the support of my colleagues in the Southeast Delegation and I look forward to continuing to work together to represent the needs of our region."

Guenst is a Democrat who represents the 152nd House District, which includes parts of Philadelphia along with Bryn Athyn, Hatboro, Lower Moreland, Upper Moreland and part of Upper Dublin Township in Montgomery County.

She also serves on the House Agriculture, Children and Youth, Game and Fisheries and Human Services committees.

The Pennsylvania House of Representative's Southeast Delegation is considered the body's largest delegation anywhere in the commonwealth, and consists of legislators representing Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Berks, Lancaster, York and Dauphin Counties.

Guenst has only been a state legislator for just over a year, having first been elected to the House of Representatives in November 2020.

She is a Hatboro native who previously served as both mayor of Hatboro and as a local borough councilwoman. Guenst is also a former member of the U.S. Army and has extensive emergency management training.
