Hatboro Officials Report That There Was An Early Morning House Fire In The Borough Friday

A fire was reported at a home on the 100 block of Academy Road in Hatboro early Friday morning. Occupants had to be evacuated from the home.

HATBORO, PA — Residents of a home in the borough had to be evacuated after emergency responders were called out for a report of an early-morning fire at the dwelling, according to emergency alerts and social media posts.

Firefighters with the Enterprise Fire Company of Hatboro were dispatched to a home on the 100 block of Academy Road around 4 a.m. Friday for a report of a working fire, according to Emergency Alerts of Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Hatboro officials posted to Facebook that the call initially came in as a reported odor from the home's basement, and that the call was upgraded once firefighters arrived and discovered flames coming from the basement.

Additional fire personnel from neighboring departments were also called in to assist at the scene and to provide coverage for Enterprise while its firefighters worked to extinguish the residential blaze, according to the borough.

All occupants of the home had to be removed for safety reasons. There were no immediate reports of any injuries.

The exact extent of the damages to the home was not immediately clear, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Hatboro Fire Marshal.
