Teen Drug Discussion Planned In Horsham

"A Parent's Guide To Teenagers and Substance Abuse" is set for Wednesday, March 13.

HORSHAM, PA — The Hatboro-Horsham School district is sponsoring a discussion for parents on substance abuse and teenagers.

Titled "A Parent's Guide To Teenagers and Substance Abuse," the event is set for Wednesday, March 13 at Crooked Billet-Hallowell Learning Community, at 501 West Moreland Ave. in Horsham.

It is scheduled for 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The educational event will include discussion about the following topics:

  • What are some of the most effective ways to keep our kids from using alcohol or other drugs?
  • What are some of the signs that your teen might be drinking or trying drugs?
  • The biological reasons that teens take risks.
  • How parents can help shape their kids' choices and behaviors and raise successful adults.

The event is part of the Be a Part of the Conversation series. The series aims to create effective, culture-changing programs that increase awareness of the effects of alcohol and other drug use.
