HATBORO, PA — The closed Gamburg's Furniture store, a prime real estate location in the downtown business district on York Road, has sat empty for two years now.

Just down the road, the longtime vacant CVS store has been transformed into the borough's first apartment complex under its Town Center Ordinance.

Meanwhile, along North York Road, construction on the second apartment complex is progressing at an impressive pace.

Gamburg's announced it was closing for good in August 2023 due to its owners' retirement. The property's development future is unknown at this time, and its owners have not sold the property.

The building is now covered with murals to eliminate it as an eyesorefor residents attending downtown business events.
