Accident Cleared at Egypt and Park

A two-car accident left at least one injured in mid-day accident.

Two vehicles were involved in an accident around 11:40 a.m. today near the Gulf gas station at Egypt Road and Park Avenue in Lower Providence. Traffic was routed around the blocked lane on Egypt until the two cars could be cleared.

While an official police report has yet to be released, witnesses at the scene say a male driver of a blue two-door car was injured.

Gulf station employee Mohit Patel told Patch that a customer came in around 11:45 or 11:50 a.m. to ask for water and help. The customer told Patel two cars had crashed, and wondered if she could get them some water.

After gathering what was needed, Patel exited the store to see first-hand a blue car and white pick-up truck along Egypt, in front of the station, involved in the accident.

"In the blue car, there was a man driver, and he was sitting there bleeding," said Patel. "There was no one in the white pick-up [at the time Patel came out]."
