Child Porn Possession Case Proceeds Against Lower Providence Township Man
Edward Elvin, 65, is accused of possessing child pornography while he was out on bail on a previous case involving the same allegations.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — A local man who was arrested and charged with a host of child pornography possession charges after it was alleged that he viewed child porn while he was out on bail in a previous case involving the same criminal charges has been ordered to stand trial in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.
During a recent preliminary hearing, Magisterial District Judge Cathleen Kelly Rebar found that enough evidence existed in the case to hold Edward Elvin, 65, over for trial in state court.
Patch reported on Elvin's arrest earlier this month.

That prior case is still pending at Montgomery County Common Pleas Court. It was unclear whether or not the two cases would be merged together or played out separately before a judge.
In the most recent case, Elvin was ordered held for trial on more than 200 felony child pornography counts against him, plus one felony count of criminal use of a communications facility.
Records show that Elvin still remains out on bail pending resolution of the charges.
Elvin was reportedly ordered to stay away from the Internet as part of the conditions of his bail in the previous arrest.
Court records show that a formal arraignment has been scheduled for June 29.
