A Lightning Strike Caused A Pool Shed To Catch Fire In Upper Providence Township
Fire crews were called out to the scene of a pool shed fire in Upper Providence Township Thursday morning. A lightning strike was the cause.
UPPER PROVIDENCE, PA — Volunteer fire crews from numerous area departments were called out to a pool shed fire Thursday morning in Upper Providence Township.
The call came in around 7:11 a.m. on Thursday for a reported fire outside of a home along the 1700 block of Morgan Lane.
The Perkiomen Township Fire Company, which was one of the responding agencies, said in a Facebook post that the cause of the blaze appeared to be a lightning strike.

Crews were ultimately able to put out the fire without further incident.
Responding departments included the Collegeville Fire Company, Perkiomen Township Fire Company, Upper Providence Township Fire & Emergency Services, and the Trappe Fire Company.

While crews were out handling the shed fire, personnel from Lower Providence Fire Department, Royersford Fire Department, Black Rock Volunteer Fire Company and Phoenixville Fire Department helped to cover another call within Upper Providence Township.
