Lower Providence Holds Open House To Review 2040 Comprehensive Plan

The central Montgomery County township is currently working on its 2040 comprehensive plan. Residents are invited to get an update.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — Residents are invited to an open house early next month to learn about the township's draft 2040 comprehensive plan.

Lower Providence officials announced that the steering committee working on the township's comprehensive plan would be hosting the open house on May 4 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lower Providence Fire Company, located at 3199 Ridge Pike in Eagleville.

There will also be an evening session on that same date from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

"The open house will provide residents the opportunity to share their thoughts on the community vision and future goals within the plan," the township posted in a community announcement.

The township said that the steering committee — which is comprised of township officials, community members and business owners — has been working with representatives from the Montgomery County Planning Commission since the spring of 2020.

The comprehensive plan is expected to lay the foundation for the township for the next 10-plus years.

Comprehensive plans are adopted by municipalities that include background information about a town as well as an analysis of current trends and future visions and come complete with recommended ways to reach those visions and desired goals.
