Lower Providence to hold 25th-Annual Fall Fest

Below is Patch's guide to the 2012 Lower Providence Township annual Fall Fest.

Lower Providence Township will hold its 25th-annual Fall Fest, Oct. 6 from noon to 4 p.m. The event will take place throughout the grounds of Eagleville Park.

According to Karl Lukens, Lower Providence Township Parks and Recreation director, Fall Fest was once called, and still referred to by some residents, as the township’s “Fun Day.”

“The big thing is to give the community the opportunity to have fun,” Lukens said, adding, “It’s a chance for them to see people they haven’t seen in a long time.”

  • Lower Providence Community Center Ambulances
  • Montgomery County Field Command vehicle
  • National Guard HUMVEE

Local Businesses, Crafters and Nonprofits

Behind the Township Building will be a big tent.

“It’s a big expo,” Lukens said of the Business Courtyard area. “The community can meet with the local business owners and build a sense of camaraderie.”

Underneath the tent will hold vendors from several local businesses. Among the featured vendors, as well as the top sponsors of the 25th-annual Lower Providence Fall fest are:

  • TD Bank
  • Shannondell at Valley Forge
  • Mainline Health/Paoli Hospital
  • PJM Interconnection (at Point Park in Lower Providence)

According to Lukens, space for business vendors is still available [see media gallery for more information].

Also in this area will be vendors of local crafters, nonprofit organizations and restaurants. Space is available for crafters and nonprofits.

Also in this area will be live music by Vintage Country (noon - 2 p.m.) and Celtic Crossroads (2 - 4 p.m.).

Parking at Fall Fest

Lukens advises those attending Fall Fest to carpool.

According to Lukens, the Fall Fest is one of the most well attended township-wide events, drawing in an average of 4,000-5,000 visitors each year in recent memory. Lukens said the popularity of the Fall Fest is second only to the township’s fireworks display during the Fourth of July, which draws in approximately 10,000 visitors.

Parking attendants will can be found in the stone lot, adjacent to the football field. Should that lot become full, additional parking can be found across Ridge Pike in the Metro Storage lot or at Eagleville Elementary School, where visitors can use the Eagleville Park trails to access the Fall Fest area.

When asked why the residents and local businesses have continued to show great support for Fall Fest for the last 25 years and counting, Lukens explained that it’s the other way around.

“This is more of a way for the township to support the residents,” Lukens said. “It should be a good time. We want to show our appreciation to them.”
