Spooky Haunted Garden Benefits Lower Providence Library
The Haunted Garden has returned to Lower Providence and is even bigger.

The Haunted Garden has made its spooky return to Lower Providence this year, thanks to Lisa Yanak and Angela Mullen, who donate their efforts and their land, and then donate visitors’ donations to the Lower Providence Community Library.
The Haunted Garden, in its ninth year, is even bigger this year, with new items like animatronic spookies. Mullen and Yanak are former elementary school teachers, and they developed the garden to be a haunted walk for younger children, who did not have many Halloween activities aimed at them, said Mullen.
“The Haunted Garden was started as a special activity for my second grade class from Eagleville Elementary School, which is right down the street, “wrote Yanak in an email to Patch.com. “Kids, and their families, were invited to see the garden with its decorations and lighted pathways…”

The Haunted Garden, popular with young children, will be open Oct. 21-31, weather permitting. On weekdays it will be open from 4-8 p.m. and on weekends, 12-8 p.m. On Halloween the garden will be open all day. It is free but donations are very welcome and will go to the library. Yanak donates her time to the library as well, sitting on the library board.
The garden had become a community project, with students from Methacton High School and local Boy Scouts volunteering to lead children through the garden, according to Mullen.
