The Sept. 26 Lower Providence Planning Commission will hold a presentation reviewing site sketches for the proposed YMCA facility at the Club at Shannondell in Audubon.

The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the Township Building.

Lower Providence, through its website, has released the proposed YMCA sketch plans, which provide statistical information of the YMCA development project and its relation to the Club at Shannondell and surrounding neighborhoods. [See media gallery at right]

According to information found on the sketch plans, the YMCA project is expected to take up nearly 40 acres of the gross 108 acres-tract, whose current uses include a golf course, swimming facility and a restaurant.

One sketch plan particularly notes that the YMCA project would reduce the open space area by approximately 18 acres.

The Township also released the Power Point presentation of the July 26 Board of Supervisors special meeting, when the YMCA project was first considered by the board.

As previously reported, during the July 26 YMCA presentation, should the Township approve the project, the YMCA would co-locate on the township-owned property with the Club at Shannondell.

Also on the Sept. 26 Planning Commission agenda will be a continued discussion on the potential developments along the Ridge Pike Corridor.
