Alleged Checkbook Thief Caught on Tape
Lower Southampton police are looking for a man who allegedly took a checkbook containing $2,500 cash from the counter at Eddie's Auto on Philmont Ave.

Images from a surveillance video taken a few weeks ago show a man allegedly snatching a checkbook containing $2,500 in cash from the front counter at Eddie's Auto on Philmont Ave., according to the Lower Southampton Police Department.
On May 17, Ed Lesher alerted the police to the theft from his business that occurred two days prior. He had originally thought he misplaced the checkbook that usually sits in his briefcase, police say.
According to the report, Lesher reviewed footage from his security cameras and saw a bald, black man in a blue track suit with white stripes reach over the counter, open the briefcase and take the checkbook. The suspected thief then put the checkbook in his pocket and left the premies, police say.
