In addition to those five gift ideas, here are a few more that are manageable just a few days before the holiday:
Homemade gift certificates - Take a pen, some colored paper and start creating gift certificates she can redeem for a lunch, a visit, a shopping trip, a certain number of phone calls, whatever your mother enjoys. Maybe she wants you to weed the garden, put that in as well.
Dedicate a book in her honor – Did your mother read to you? Of course she did. Dedicate a book in her honor at the public library. This is a great way to show your love, to your mom and to other readers.
Cook something special - If you can't get a reservation at your mom’s favorite restaurant, cook her dinner at your house or maybe just whip up a special treat she loves.
