POSITION DESCRIPTION

FULL-TIME EVENING CUSTODIAN 

Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt 

Date: November 18, 2021                                             

PURPOSE: 

Perform various housekeeping and custodial tasks necessary to clean and maintain the Newtown Township Municipal Buildings, located at 209 Bishop Hollow Road, Newtown Square, PA 19073. Set up and break down for meetings and activities, which take place at the Municipal Building as required.  

Perform some outdoor cleaning and maintenance as well, including picking up litter and weeding beds from around the facility.  During winter weather events, individual may be called in earlier than usual shift to keep sidewalks clear of snow and ice.  

Individual must have the ability to follow instructions, perform labor tasks, possess a working knowledge and skill level in operating and maintaining various cleaning and other equipment, and possess a working knowledge of general maintenance and safety procedures.  

EDUCATION LEVEL: 

High school degree or GED equivalent. Experience in housekeeping and custodial work as well as the operation of necessary equipment preferred. Must pass several background checks as well as a drug and alcohol test.
