Media Ushering In 2026 With New Year's Eve Ball Drop

Media Mayor-Elect ​Joi Washington will flip the switch to light the 2026 sign perched atop Spasso Italian Grill at the stroke of midnight.

MEDIA, PA — The Media’s New Year’s Eve Ball Drop is all set for Wednesday night and promises an evening of festivities.

New Year's Eve fun begins at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, and concludes at 12:30 am on Thursday on State Street.

A DJ will be spinning party tunes at the intersection of State and Jackson streets, and many of the State Street District’s restaurants host special events.

The night will also feature New Year’s Eve selfie stations, as well.

Then, just before midnight, the countdown begins, and the glowing orb will descend from more than 100 feet above buildings.

Media Mayor-Elect Joi Washington will be flipping the switch to light the 2026 sign perched atop Spasso Italian Grill in the heart of Media’s State Street District, at the stroke of midnight.

Mayor Robert McMahon is retiring after 34 years, opening the door for Media’s first female to occupy the position.

"I am proud to be Media’s Mayor-Elect and look forward to keeping our community strong in 2026, America’s semiquincentennial, and in the coming years," Washington said. "I'm honored to throw the switch at midnight, this New Year's Eve in Everybody’s Hometown!"

Parking is free in the Baltimore Avenue Garage.
