How Much Do You Know About The Robinson-Moon Area?
Every town has its traditions. Check out these fun facts about what makes Robinson-Moon so special.

Robinson-Moon is a place like no other. And whether you grew up here, recently moved to the area or you’re just an occasional visitor, you know that Robinson-Moon has its own special traditions and history that make it so unique.
A few things to know:
- Historians believe settlers named Moon after none other than a crescent-shaped bend in the Ohio River. The location made it a perfect spot for settlers to begin a farm-based community.
- The Montour Trail, a recreational pathway, runs through the Robinson-Moon area. The entirety of the 300-plus miles of the trail connects Pittsburgh International Airport to the Great Allegheny Passage.
- The Mall at Robinson is a popular shopping destination with over 100 shops to browse. The mall is situated just 10 minutes from Pittsburgh International Airport.
- Robert Morris University is located in Moon Township. The private university is located on 230 scenic acres.
- Famous actor Michael Keaton grew up in Robinson Township. The “Batman” actor even went to Montour High School.
