Probe Continues In Case Of Man Found Shot To Death In Car Trunk

The grisly discovery occurred across the street from Moon Area High School near Pittsburgh.

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA —A man's family discovered his body Tuesday in the trunk of his own car parked in the lot of a former gas station on University Boulevard across from Moon Area High School.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Junaid Akhlas, 28. He apparently had been shot once in the head before being placed inside the vehicle's trunk.

Family members reported Akhlas missing from his Beaver County home Tuesday morning and then went searching for him. They found his body shortly after noon. Allegheny County police investigating the crime did not indicate what led them to the abandoned station.
