Homicide Suspect Leaps From Pittsburgh Airport Parking Garage

A suspect in a Pennsylvania homicide jumped from the second floor of the Pittsburgh International Airport parking garage.

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA — A Blair County homicide suspect was seriously injured after leaping from the second floor of the Pittsburgh International Airport parking garage, Allegheny County police said Thursday.

Police were dispatched to the garage Wednesday morning for reports of a man who jumped from the garage, but initially were unable to locate him. However, a man shortly thereafter called for medical assistance.

Police identified the man as Joshua Leyo, 30, of Altoona.

Altoona police contacted Allegheny County police Wednesday afternoon seeking assistance in locating Leyo in connection with a homicide that occurred earlier in the day. Altoona police said there Leyo was believed to be at the airport.

County police responded to the hospital where Leyo was transported and detained him. Leyo remains in custody while he is being treated, and is expected to be extradited back to Blair County upon his release.
