Robinson-Moon Arrest Reports

DUIs, drug charges, child endangerment in this week's Robinson Township police blotter.

DUIs

  • Elaine M. Gallagher, 51, of Sewickley is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and obedience to traffic-control devices during a roving DUI patrol conducted by the West Hills DUI Task Force on May 4. An officer monitoring the intersection between Park Manor and Ditka's saw Gallagher's car make a left-hand turn where a sign is posted saying "all traffic must turn right." The officer detected a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, slightly slurred speech and glassy eyes. Gallagher failed a field sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test was positive for alcohol. She faces a preliminary hearing at 10 a.m. June 25 in district court.
  • Richard Egan, 50, of Robinson is charged with two counts of prohibited acts, two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, and one count of careless driving after an accident on . Police came upon an accident, where a car was stuck in a ditch after backing into a tree on Glass Road near West Harbinson. Police went to Egan's home but he refused to come to the door. Police noted he had slurred speech, glassy eyes and was lethargic. A small marijuana bowl with a push rod was found during the investigation. Egan told police he had taken two prescription medications because of an injury. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office measured Egan's whole blood ethanol level at .201 percent. The legal limit is .08 percent. His preliminary hearing is set for 10 a.m. June 25 in district court.
  • Ernest Feeney, 27, of Carnegie is charged with two counts of driving under the influence, and one charge each of driving on roadways laned for traffic-driving in single lane, driving vehicle at a safe speed and careless driving. An officer on patrol in the 5200 block of Steubenville Pike about 2:43 a.m. May 3 heard a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed behind him. The car turned onto I-79 South and continued speeding, failing to stay in the lane several times before stopping for police. Feeney had glassy eyes, slurred speech and the strong odor from an alcoholic beverage was on him. A preliminary breath test registered .168. Feeney was transported to Ohio Valley Hospital for a blood alcohol content test. A preliminary hearing is set for June 18 at 10 a.m. in district court.

Drug Violations

  • Lucas Aaron Helbling, 21, of McKees Rocks is charged with prohibited acts and disorderly conduct after an incident at Mall at Robinson on May 4. Helbling and a female companion were kicked out of the mall for being intoxicated, and then tried to get into cars in the parking lot. Police found multiple syringes in his backpack along with a cotton swab and spoon, according to a police report. An empty stamp bag of heroin marked "Mercedes" with a Mercedes Benz symbol was found in his wallet. The female, who left when Helbling began trying to open car door handles, was released after being stopped by police. Helbling faces a preliminary hearing in district court at 10 a.m. June 18.

  • An employee of Robinson Beer & Beverage at 5899 Steubenville Pike called police on May 3 after she noticed that a $20 bill looked different than others she had. Police determined the bill was fake.

Child Endangerment

  • Kevin Wohlgemuth, 45, of Coraopolis was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after leaving a small child unattended in an SUV in the Giant Eagle Market District parking lot on Settler Ridge Drive on May 4. He faces a preliminary hearing in district court at 10 a.m. June 25 in district court.

Retail theft

  • Robinson police assisted North Fayette police with a retail theft case at Five Below at The Pointe at North Fayette. Rachel Harden, 22, of McKees Rocks and Rochelle Victoria Harden, 24, of Coraopolis were taken into custody by North Fayette police and accused of stealing from various stores at the shopping center. A Robinson officer retrieved a large bag of cosmetic items taken from Five Below for which the women had no receipt. Both women are charged with receiving stolen property, retail theft and conspiracy-retail theft-take merchandise. They face preliminary hearings before District Judge Anthony Saveikis at 10 a.m. July 8.

Trespassing

  • Ayman Yaser Hajismail, 36, who listed addresses in Wilkinsburg and Penn Hills, is charged with defiant trespass after he was accused of attempting to steal scrap metal from a trash bin at the Mall at Robinson at 8 p.m. May 19. A mall security officer flagged down a Robinson officer to report that Hajismail, a mall store employee, had moved his vehicle to the area and begun loading the metal. A preliminary hearing has been set for 10 a.m. June 26.

Theft

  • Postal mail was stolen April 30 from Printscape Inc. on Vista Park Drive. An employee told police that a bicycle part valued at $90 was missing mail that appeared tampered with by someone. A McCandless officer made an arrest regarding stolen mail and counterfeit checks, including one from Printscape. A second arrest was made and a third person involved was identified. The United States Postal Inspection Service is handling the investigation.
