New Pittsburgh International Airport Terminal Project Advancing
After a year-long delay because of the coronavirus outbreak, the new Pittsburgh International Airport terminal project is back on track.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Airlines that serve Pittsburgh International Airport have agreed to fund $182 million in initial construction work for a new 700,000-square foot terminal. The new $1.39 billion facility will replace the current Landside Terminal and will include ticketing, security checkpoints, a car rental area and a new 3,300-space parking garage.
The project had been placed on hold for the past year because of the coronavirus outbreak.
Blue Sky News, the airport's online information site, reported that construction of the new terminal should be completed at the end of 2024 and the facility should open in early 2025.
